December... National Drunk And Drugged Driving Prevention Month....

Today marks the beginning of National Drunk And Drugged Driving Prevention Month. If you would like more information please click on the following link...

Thousands of people die or are injured every year as a result of drunk or drug impaired driving. This is especially true during the holiday season where more people are likely to drive in an impaired state. The current statistics can be changed through commitment, education, and personal responsibility. Please join me in bringing awareness to this issue so we can all enjoy a safe and joyful holiday season.....

We can help raise public awareness by:
Placing buttons on our blogs as a reminder to every one that December is National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month. We can also write posts, share personal experiences, provide education links, and talk to our family and friends....

We can make responsible choices this holiday season. We can also encourage our family and friends to make responsible choices. We can remind them to appoint a designated driver or call a cab if they are going to a party and are planning to drink. Please do not allow family or friends to drink and drive. Ask for their keys if you know they are impaired. If you are giving a party where alcohol will be served, stop serving the alcohol before the party ends.....

Please remember...... "This holiday season if you catch a Buzz catch a Ride"
With warmest regards, Carol

An unexpected gift......

I'm a little behind on my posts this week but I wanted to take the time to tell you about the lovely button Pat at http://backporchmusings.blogspot.com/2008/11/christmas-past-tablescape-tuesday.html made for all of us who follow her blog. Isn't it pretty? If you haven't stopped by Pat's this is the time of year to do so. Her home is decorated for Christmas and it's absolutely beautiful! She also has the most lovely and festive tablescapes. Thank you Pat for this beautiful button......

I also wanted to mention the sweet Happy Thanksgiving e-mail I got from Jan and Tom at http://jt-jantom.blogspot.com/ this morning. It seemed to come at just the right time. Thank you so much! Many thanks to all of you for your lovely Thanksgiving wishes! I am so grateful and blessed to have all of you as friends. You are the most amazing blogger in the whole world!

Blue Monday.....

Welcome to Blue Monday, a post hosted by my good friend Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ Every week a group of us gals get together to post something blue. If you are interested in joining our group, or you would like further information about us, just click the above link to reach the official Blue Monday web site......

This week I thought I would share with you another part of my turkey collection. I have a small wooden display shelf in my living room where I keep part of my turkey collection during the Thanksgiving holiday season. The turkey I am sharing with you today is sitting on the second shelf. It is a ceramic turkey in an array of bright colors that sort of blend into one another. Although he does have blue on his wing and on his back, he is actually more multicolored. As you can see the curtains in that room are also blue.......

Here is a picture of my turkey close up. The neatest thing about him is that part of his tail feathers are knives. You will usually find him sitting on my Thanksgiving Day buffet table near some sort of a dip or a cheese ball . When it's time to serve I just take out a tail feather and our guests can use it to spread the dip or cheese on the crackers or bread that is accompanying it. Is he a hoot or what?.....
I can't wait to see what all of you have posted.... Happy Blue Monday everyone!......
With warmest regards, Carol

A Thanksgiving wish and a little humor....

A THANKSGIVING WISH AND A LITTLE HUMOR.....

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
Happy weekend everyone!.....
With warmest regards,

Thanksgiving is a time for spreading joy and happiness. It is a time for sharing and a time to give thanks for all of the wonderful blessings we have.......

There are so many people in our country in less fortunate circumstances than we are. People in nursing homes who have no family, people in hospitals sick and alone, people who have lost loved ones through separation or death, and people who can't afford to celebrate Thanksgiving or go home to be with their loved ones this holiday season.
Thanksgiving is a wonderful opportunity to reach out in some way to some one in need. Help spread love and joy on Thanksgiving and this holiday season.....

Dogs on Thursday......

Welcome to Dogs On Thursday at http://dogsonthursday.blogspot.com/ A weekly post where dog lovers such as myself get together to talk about their most precious four legged friends. If you are interested in joining our group, or you would like more information about us, just click the above link to reach the official Dogs On Thursday web site......

I am very happy to report that things are settling down at our house and Charli is up to her usual antics. She went to the groomers the other day and my hubby said the house was just to quiet with out her. She has been running up and down the hall throwing her toys all over the place. I keep telling her she has to pick them up, but you know Charli, she never listens to a thing I say. She's even back to terrorising our poor mailman again.
By the way where is that pooch?..........
"Charli where are you? Mike have you seen Charli?" "No, I haven't seen her in a while." "Humm... Where could she be? Charli".....
"What's this? Charli where have you been and what's that on your head?" "I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving!" "Charli you little silly. Dogs don't get ready for Thanksgiving LOL!" "Yes they do." "Where did you get that feather?" "I found it on the floor." "Humm... Something strange is going on around here. First I thought I was being followed, then I thought I heard someone say gobble, and now you find a feather. It's odd. Very, very odd".....

"Charli is there anything you would like to say before we say goodbye?"
"Well, everyone is going to be busy next week and we might not have a Dogs On Thursday, so just in case we don't, I want to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!" "Awh that's nice Charli."
"Now do I get the turkey?" "Oh Charli."....
We look forward to reading all of your posts.... We hope you have a wonderful week!....
Our warmest regards,

Booking Through Thursday........

Welcome to Booking Through Thursday at http://btt2.wordpress.com/ This weeks questions are as follows:

"I receive a lot of review books, but I have never once told lies about the book just because I got a free copy of it. However, some authors seem to feel that if they send you a copy of their book for free, you should give it a positive review. Do you think reviewers are obligated to put up a good review of a book, even if they don't like it? Have we come to a point where reviewers *need* to put up disclaimers to (hopefully) save themselves from being harassed by unhappy authors who get negative reviews?"

I'm not a reviewer, or an author, but I would hope that reviewers are honest and forthright. To me it would be a grave injustice to the author to be dishonest. I realize that some authors are highly sensitive about their work but to me the difference between a mediocre author and a great writer would be the ability to accept criticism, and therefore, grow with each writing experience. If I were an author I would want multiple reviews where I would be able to get as many different points of views as I could......
Happy Thursday everyone.... I look forward to reading all of your posts....
With warmest regards, Carol
