This week our questions are as follows......
"Suggested by Jennysboots:
Something I've been thinking about lately: "What words/phrases in a blurb make a book irresistible? What words/phases will make you put the book back down immediately?"
1. Words or phrases that make a book irresistible would include, but are certainly not limited to......
Classic, deeply affecting, hilarious, sensational, inspiring, light, vibrant, impelling, provocative, historical, fascinating, spiritual, emotional, entertaining, true, passionate, romantic, bewitching, powerful, surprising, witty, and dramatic.
2. Words or phrases that will make be put a book down immediately would include, but are certainly not limited to......
Sporty, modern, pornographic, seedy, deadly, hard core, unstable, dark, bitter, lifeless, science fiction, paranormal, chilling, horrifying, bland, and thriller.
Happy Booking Through Thursday everyone!......
I hope all of you have a beautiful day ♥
With warmest regards, Carol

How true that words can make or break a book if they are too negative or even too 'sugary'. And it is amazing that certain words catch our attention and help us stay with reading a book.

Good thinking, Carol.

I agree with all your views on words that sway me one way or the other when choosing books.
Mostly I go by what other like-minded friends think.
I have one very good friend who I especially value her opinion on books, every book she's loved I have loved too. Now she just automatically will pass on to me any book that she has enjoyed reading!

Great post, Carol!
Love to you, Eileen

I agree! I would be hard pressed to read a book described as "lifeless." :)

So often your posts cause me to think about things. Today's is a good example. What makes a book a keeper or not, for me personally. I would have chose some of the same words you did...for both categories.

Your Fall blog look is so attractive. I love seeing the leaves falling, and cute little Charli in her costume.
