Have you heard the news? It's official now! Santa Claus has come to town!

This weekend Ryan and I had the opportunity to visit the Partridge Creek Mall to see the lighting of the trees ceremony. I have written about this quaint little out door dog friendly mall in the past so I won't go into further details here. The Partridge Creek mall has offered a Christmas program and lighting ceremony for the past three years. I just can't believe how many people and dogs turn out for this fun family event! Most of the dogs have blinking collars and leashes which look very pretty lit up at night. I did not bring Charli with me because of the large crowds of people who attend. I thought it was more important to keep my focus on Ryan. The parents, grandparents, and children usually meet near the outdoor fireplace to wait for the program to begin. Partridge Creek provides all glow wands for all of the children free of charge. You can just imagine how excited the children were to receive these. They held them up in the air as they listened to the wonderful Christmas music provided by the Detroit Opera Children's Choir. What a wonderful job the choir did! It was awesome to see all of the colorful wands swaying through the night air. Nordstroms provided free hot chocolate and the Cookie Factory a free cookie to all of the children who were there. Ryan and I opted to go to Starbucks instead and I am so glad we did because we avoided some very long lines. After the Choir was finished the children were told Santa would be arriving and to listen for the Piston Drum Corp to escort him into the mall area. There was total silence as the children waited and then cheers of delight as the drum corp came marching through the streets with you know who. After Santa arrived the children were told to hold up their wands, count to three, and then shout "light that tree." Then all of the lights came on. The Patridge Creek Mall has a display of over 300,000 lights and it is truly beautiful! This is where the blue comes in for my Blue Monday post. These pictures really do not do the light display justice. It's just amazing and so very beautiful! Ryan and I had a wonderful time and in the process we even got a little Christmas shopping done......

Happy Blue Monday everyone!
I hope all of you have a lovely day ♥
With warmest regards, Carol

What a wonderful little ceremony. The trees look beautiful and the children must have enjoyed it so much. Even the old children, like me.

I love the lights--especially the blue, but I do wish they'd wait until AFTER Thanksgiving. Happy Blue Monday and have a Happy Thanksgiving, Carol.

Beautiful post!

I wanted to post something for Blue Monday too but this weekend was so hectic I never got a chance to get my things together!

I think it's wonderful that you have such a nice ceremony and display in your area!
And more wonderful that you got to enjoy it with your grandson!
And those blue trees were my favorite and so nice for you to post today!

I actually used to get annoyed at Christmas starting so early, but as I've gotten older I enjoy it, it puts me in the mood, I get all the 'busy' things done early, and then I am able to sit back and really enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.
There is even a radio station that usually starts playing Christmas music on Thanksgiving Day but this year they started this weekend!

Happy Blue Monday!
Love to you,
Eileen
