Getting ready for the holidays....

Getting ready for the holidays........

Can you believe it? Christmas is right around the corner again. The holidays are so different these days. With a touch of a button you can go to so many wonderful sites on the Internet and order just about anything you want or need in order to have an amazing holiday celebration, but if you are like me, you still like to do a little of your own holiday cooking, baking, decorating, and crafting.....

Don't these goodies
look just yummy!....

I love the days leading up to the holiday's best of all. I like all of the family activities, holiday movies, crafts, visiting, baking, and trimming or decking of the halls. The most difficult thing for me to do is decorate our family Christmas tree. It makes me some what sad and happy all at the same time. It's really is a tree just filled with the most amazing memories of the people I love and people who have touched my life in a profound way. I feel so blessed to have known each and every one of them.
I found a wonderful site I thought you might enjoy http://www.northpole.com/
If you are looking for some great recipes or fun activities to do with your children or grandchildren I am sure you will be able to find something here.
I hope you are having a fun filled weekend ♥
Charli is even getting into the holiday spirit and helping me with a little decorating.
"CHARLI! Get out from under that tree!"
With warmest regards, Carol

Nice post!
That all looks so wonderful!
I'm determined to get things done early and enjoy Christmas this year!
We've cut back so much on the gift-giving. We do a Kris Kringle type thing with my family & Ray's family (both families come to us the weekend after Christmas), and then we just buy for the grandkids. So much nicer this way!

And you are not going to believe this, but Ray and I put the tree up today!
We usually do it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but Jayden was spending this weekend at his Dad's and it's just easier to do things while he's not underfoot!
It's not decorated yet, just lights. But it's such a chore to move the furniture around the living room and move the big chair out into the front room, and now all that is behind us! Whew!
It actually feels good to have that done!
We'll decorate it next weekend.

I'm glad I'm not the only early bird!
Good for you!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Love to you,
Eileen

I am most affected in the 6 weeks of Thanksgiving to New Year each year. I love it very much and find the most simple of pleasures in it all. I love to bake and cook so that's not a problem so long as I pace myself. I love to give gifts so that's easy. I also reflect back on the year behind me & what I want for my home and family in the year to come. It is indeed a bit sad mixed with a bunch of goodness. I love your post. Hugs to Charli!! tammy

This is my first blogger Christmas too and it will be sweet.

We have already started putting out the massive nativity collection so this is the earliest we have ever done that and it is good! Still much to do but it will get done with patience and love.

Will Charli be getting dressed up for Thanksgiving? She sounds like such a great helper.

blessings with happy hugs,

marcy

I'm excited about the holidays, too, Carol! I can't believe that they are here, though. Doesn't it seem like yesterday that we were all posting about Christmas??? Where has the time gone? It has literally flown out the window! But I love the holidays. It could be Christmas year round, and I'd be happy!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh Carol! You are so kind to come and see my dream!!! I worked on distressing it today and it worked. Now instead of a nightmare, I have my little distressed French dresser! Give Charli a squeeze, Anita

You make every holiday fun! Just visiting your blog makes me excited for Christmas and all that it holds. I am happy you shared that Northpole website with this grandma...she needs all the help she can get.

Beautiful post!

Hi Carol! Love those photos. I wish I was one of those few who have everything done by now! No no Nannette, not me! :)
I do hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and just look at little Charlie all decked out as an Indian. She is so cute and I think she must like wearing all of these cute outfits!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

As hard as I try, my cookies and cupcakes never look like that. No matter, they taste good anyway.
