It snowed!.....

It Snowed!.....
"Announced by all the trumpets in the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hill and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end.
The sled and traveler stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-
We had the first real snow of the year last night and have approximately three inches on the ground. Charli has been in the window all day. There is just so much to see and do! She doesn't like to go outside but she loves to watch all of the activity going on in our neighborhood. We are glad she has something to keep herself busy because she has been kind of sulky since we cut down on the amount of treats we give her. In fact, she is down right mad at my husband. She won't come when he calls her, sit on his lap, or give him any hugs. It's almost like she is saying, "Your not my friend any more" LOL
We hope all of you are staying warm on this snowy winter day ♥
With warmest regards, Carol

The first snowfall of a new year is exciting!

Watching snowflakes falling is very peaceful. If it is snowing and I am outside I still enjoy looking at the design of an individual flake that has landed on my glove. Winter is a pretty season.

Charli looks very interested in what is going on. Tommy is upset with us for cutting down on his treats too. He is a big boy- 70 lbs and being so short, the weight really shows on him.

Stay warm dear Carol.

Awww, hope Charli finds a little forgiveness in her heart. You're doing this for her good health, of course. :D I love that line "a tumultuous privacy of storm" for it perfectly describes it.

Charli looks so cute in her outfit. Hope she will get over her sulking. We too had a few snow flurries but not anything to speak of but it is so cold. We do not go out unless it is really necessary. Have a good evening and stay warm. Madeline

We had heavy snow all day and night and light flurries today, it's cold but beautiful! Maybe Charlie needs to play in the snow!

We had snow today too, not much, just a dusting, and now the weekend is supposed to be freezing cold.
I plan on staying in and getting a few things done, and then cozy up with a cup of soup!

Charli is so funny! She reminds me of Jayden when he sulks because he doesn't get his way! How adorable, Carol!

Have a good weekend!
All the best,
P.S. This post was a nice 'pick-me-up' for me, I really enjoyed Charli's pictures!

Your first snow...ahhh...we have had snow and snow and more snow!

As tired of it as I am, I do recall the joy of FIRST seeing it...shameful, I am so spoiled...

Now as far ms Charli, she is just trying to find your husband's weak him, or he will crumble like a cookie (or a dog treat)..

That Charlie is SUCH a cutie, Carol! I hope the cold stays north of us at least in terms of snow. I worry about the citrus here. Keep our farmers in your prayers...

very adorable post and thanks so much for sharing the Tastes of Home snowman. I printed it to store with my snowman dishes. My kids'll get a kick out of him if I try him for dinner before this crazy winter is over.

You must have given up on Hopeful Fridays??

Your Charli stories always brighten my day. Sometimes it amazes me how much like children they can be. She has to prove a point and let him know she is upset. Brought a smile to me when I read this.

We had more snow last evening also. Tomorrow it is to be bitter cold here. I am staying warm and I hope you are too. Beautiful pictures.

Oh dearest, Charli cracks me up. She really is ticked off you know; when one has to do cold turkey and cut back on the sweets, there is a thing goin' on in the belly and the mind! She will just have to buck up!!!! :) She is so adorable in her little T and what a fun thing for her to see the snow! WOW, the whole country is going through a deep freeze! My students haven't had outdoor recess all week. I have had to hide during my lunch in order to get a little peace! Blessings to all of you....and Charli. Anita

I'm glad that you enjoy it; I sure don't. The weather predictors are using the "s" word for a possibility tomorrow--don't they KNOW that this is Florida?

Glad you got your first snow! We've had a few already, including a 1-foot event. Its not so much fun at that height :)

Hello Carol,

Oh I hope Charlie isn't cold with the weather and all. And even though she gets mad, I think she's still a cutie :-)

Wishing your family a blessed New Year!
